Voice communication is now restricted by default; players must select a user in the quick menu and click the sound icon to enable audio.
Users must now manually unmute players via the quick menu to hear them.

Friending a user or having them as a pre-existing friend automatically unmutes both parties.
Friends automatically have open communication channels.
